Valtrex treatment should be started as soon as possible after the first signs of the infection have been spotted. Such medical issues should be reported as kidney disease, a history of bone marrow transplant, AIDS, HIV or any other ones that may have weakened your immune system.

Valtrex is not expected to be harmful to an unborn child when taken by the mother. If genital herpes is being treated, it's very important to start taking Valtrex and prevent herpes lesions, as otherwise the infection will be passed to the baby during delivery. This medicine is not intended for children unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor based on the patient's individual needs. Valtrex may affect your kidneys, especially when you take it together with certain other drugs. Your doctor may need to adjust your dose depending on other prescription or over-the-counter drugs you are taking, for the treatment to be safe and efficient for you.
